i don't actually enjoy taking protest photos, i find it really difficult to get representational and meaningful photos out of the crowds. maybe that's why i've stuck at it and ended up with so many photos from various protests. the photographs above are mainly from anti-war demos and may day protests. there's also photos from the women's rally in canada and some critial mass photos. the more 'action' oriented protests photos you'll find in the ungdomshuset gallery. but taking photos of protest violence is just cheap, and also incriminating. it's not cool kids. unless of course your taking photos of police violence/brutality, in which case it's all good. not that your evidence will actually help convict any police. it seems that even with video footage of a police officer shooting a protester in the head they don't get charged.. anyway
